Coffee is the most popular hot beverage in the world [FACT] and more and more people every day are discovering the wide and wonderful world of flavours and aromas the simple cup of coffee has to offer. Here at No.10 there is no compromise when it comes to serving a “damn fine cup o’coffee”.
We all here at No.10 take pride in serving exactly what you want from the humble Espresso to the decadent Mochachino this comes from individual knowledge of what each type of coffee serving is and what the customers expectations are. We are happy to help with any special orders and requests that you may have to ensure you, the customer, get what you want.
At the beginning careful thought and research went into deciding the right type of coffee machine to install at No.10. Installed, spanking new and shiney, the double group head machine is a WEGA Traditional Itallian Espresso Machine complete with water softener and deodoriser filtering out the water before it enters the machine. This is crucial because Bridport is well known for its exceptionally hard water with hints of chlorine on the palette that we really don’t want getting into our well earnt cup of coffee. The coffee machine is the heart of No.10, it’s what keeps us going and we know it’s what keeps you going.
The beans used here at No.10 were selected, after numerous tastings, for their versatility and consistency in making great coffee from Espresso to Café Latte. The blend of coffee beans used is a 70% Arabica /30% Robusta and the roasters are Sicilian who, I’m sure you need no telling, are particularly passionate about their coffee. The Arabica bean is where we get those gorgeous aromas and smooth flavours and the Robusta, a little less refined than the Arabica, is where the kick comes from, the caffeine punch we’re looking for in that first morning cup of coffee. Freshness and Grind, It should also be pointed out are two other factors ensuring a great cup of coffee. The beans are roasted in Sicily then hermetically packaged in foil sealed bags to ensure when they’re opened here at No.10 none of that special stuff we’re wanting has escaped or been lost in transportation. The grinding mill we have is a top range burr grinder which guarantees a uniform grind every time. Set somewhere between a fine and medium it means we get a perfect balanced cup of coffee from Espresso to Café Latte. We should also point out we ensure no ground beans are left overnight or are used the next day - everyday we start FRESH.
One very last secret that we shouldn’t tell is using semi-skimmed milk as opposed to using full-fat milk like a lot of other “Cafes” was a premeditated intention simply because we want the full flavour of the coffee to come through on your palette without the uninvited adulterated taste of milk masking what should be a total coffee experience.
